Three ways we want to thank you.
Dear Supporters,
The lives you’ve changed have been touched so deeply — and they’re a drop in the ocean of what you’ve made possible.
Your support has accomplished so much, and we’re incredibly grateful. You’ve helped hundreds of cats land on their feet, filled homes with love and comfort, and helped our staff remain connected to reasons why we do this work.
So for starters, we’re thanking you with a reminder that every Cat Town story you read can be multiplied over and over again. This year you’ve helped:
174 cats in bonded pairs remained beside their best friends
151 sick and injured cats got the treatments they needed, from surgery and diagnostics to medications and dental care
80 stressed and overlooked adult cats finally felt safe enough to let their personalities shine
73 happy kittens got adopted quickly to make space for more cats in need
58 black cats could put their personalities front and center
52 especially at-risk cats found the support they needed to continue thriving in their new homes thanks to our volunteer Case Managers
41 senior cats found health and dignity in their golden years
27 fearful and hissy kittens learned to trust people for the first time
16 cats with FIV overcame the stigma of their diagnoses to find loving and safe homes.
And it’s not just cats whose lives are made whole — it’s the people who love them who thank you as well. Here are a few words of gratitude from the adopters whose lives you’ve helped brighten:
Peanut is a source of endless entertainment. Four years ago, Cat Town matched us with this clown of a cat. It was love at first sight, yet we love her more every day! She watches television with us and gets incredibly invested in the dramatic scenes, leaning forward and running to get closer to the TV. She is an athlete, and chases the red dot with total tenacity, running back and forth six feet up the walls like she's skating a halfpipe. And at cuddle time, she goes from standing on all fours to a full-body plop in a single move, before grabbing my husband's arm and smiling with her chin in the air.
Eliot has become my emotional support animal, and I can’t imagine life without him. He’s gone through multiple moves with me, and is so, so dear to me. I consider him my family, and the people who helped me through the adoption process really made all the difference through the experience. Getting to see the cats in such a relaxed place really made it possible for me to adopt my cats. I had been to pounds in the past, but it left me feeling awful, like I needed to rescue all the pets or none of them. Cat Town fueled my love for cats, and is responsible for bringing me some of the best extended family members I could ever ask for.
Stella and Geneva are now over 5 years old. We have loved them since the beginning and have become proud (obsessive) cat parents. They absolutely love each other and are inseparable- they are always hanging out and napping together. Stella has claimed John's lap and Geneva has claimed my lap as their respective "couches" and supervise us while we work. It's been such a blessing for us to see them grow up and be such amazing companions to us. We are so thankful that Cat Town brought us all together.
And finally, a picture is worth a thousand words, so we hope you enjoy this supersized round-up of beautiful photos below, taken by our intrepid volunteers, showing the joy you’ve helped create.
Every day, we are grateful to roll up our sleeves and help these cats, and we can give it our all because we know that you have our backs. Thank you for helping so many cats in need — we’re honored to have your support!
