When we brought Polly to our cage-free Adoption Center, I watched her make biscuits with her oversized paws and show off her gentle personality. At Cat Town, we explained to visitors that FIV is typically symptom-free for many years, and while untreatable, doesn’t spread as easily as the name implies. Best of all, Polly was able to show hundreds of people that her FIV status wasn’t a danger to other cats by safely grooming, playing, and sleeping with her feline companions at our Adoption Center.
The late winter months tend to be some of the quietest in the shelter and rescue world, so we were especially excited to send home 27 cats in February alone—that's nearly a cat a day! We had a number of foster fails including Michaelena, Stallone, and Nadine. And bonded pairs Greybeard & Shadow and Martini & Leona found the families they'd been waiting for.
The holiday love spilled over into the new year as we helped 29 cats make their way home! Lots of forgotten kittens like Rex and Dexter, Annie and Grace, and Ginger and Astaire were adopted. And we were especially excited when long term resident, Herman, found his family.
The year is just getting started and we can't wait to connect more families in the coming months. Who knows, maybe you'll be one of our February adopters? Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more and be sure to check out our full list of available cats.
