Genevieve, 3 years, female
Genevieve has a special process for meeting new friends:
The first step is spying. Peeking around a corner or out from under the couch while she forms a first impression. Second, hanging out close by, maybe kneading a blanket in place of small talk. Third, brushing up against their legs, likely while purring. And last, pets - pets on her back are her favorite, to be accompanied also by intense purring.
She’s building up her confidence with new people and places, getting a little braver with each introduction, but Genevieve’s sweetness has been obvious since day one. She’s a big purrer, as we mentioned; a very affectionate cuddler; and always overjoyed when her fosters come home. Getting her to open up, and seeing the amazing progress she has made, has been so fun and rewarding for them.
To keep making that kind of progress, we think Genevieve should go to a relatively quiet home - while she may not be ready to have a dog or a young child as a housemate, older children or another cat (especially one with confidence to spare) might help her grow through positive interactions. (She’ll need short-term treatment for a mouth ulcer, but should improve quickly - our staff can provide you with instructions.) We think you’ll love getting to know Genevieve, and she’ll purr up a storm getting to know you, too.
Genevieve is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, negative for FeLV/FIV, and $50 to adopt.
